Japanese Mochi

  1. 1 cup Mochiko (Mochi flour)
  2. 3/4 cup water
  3. 2 cups sugar
  4. Cornstarch
  5. Any flavor of NadaMoo ice cream (we used Creamy Coconut and Vanilla…ahhh ice cream)


  1. Mix Mochiko and water in a glass bowl and mix well. (Add water if it’s too dry)
  2. Steam the mochiko dough for 20 minutes
  3. Cook the steamed Mochi into a pot with sugar. Completely dissolve the sugar.
  4. Take the hot Mochi out from the pot to a sheet pan. Dust it with cornstarch.
  5. Scoop ice cream on the Mochi.
  6. Shape as you like.
