2016 Expo West Product Reviews – Veggies Save the Day

We are very honored to be included as one of the best products from Natural Product Expo West 2016 by blogger Amy Katz from Veggies Save the Day.


 

Over 70,000 people attend the Natural Products Expo West every year to sample new healthy, natural and organic products. Seeing all 3,000 exhibits is next to impossible, but I did my best to find exciting new foods and beverages that will be coming soon to a store near you. I narrowed my large list down to eight to share with you.

Nada Moo is one of the creamiest non-dairy ice creams I’ve ever eaten. My go-to flavor of this coconut-based dessert is the Cookies & Cream, but the new That Snickerdoodle Dough is pretty amazing.

Non-Dairy Ice Cream That Doesn’t Actually Suck

According to modern scientists, most human adults aren’t supposed to drink milk, because of the genome which produces lactase — something about enzymes and being old and not being able to digest it and other buzzkills. That especially sucks, because ice cream is kind of the best.

So let’s say you want some ice cream but can’t have dairy. You probably saw that Ben & Jerry’s recently released four new non-dairy flavors, but B&J’s isn’t the only non-dairy frozen dessert in town. Between the major national grocery chains, roughly 10 companies combine to sell a whopping 60 flavors. Unfortunately, most of the flavors taste like they came out the wrong end of a cow.

But not all of them. In the interest of helping our dairy-free friends, we’ve cracked open the best pints to fill you in on the non-dairy ice cream that still actually tastes like ice cream. With most of them, we couldn’t even tell that we weren’t eating the real thing.

Pre-SXSweat Community Workout in Austin

Yesterday, Nadamoo teamed up with Camp Gladiator, TriggerPoint Therapy, and Chameleon Cold-Brew to host a Pre-SXSweat Community workout at the heart of Austin! We wanted to give Austinites a fun way to workout for free and have a very deserving, delicious post-workout treat. From burpees to foam rolling to slinging scoops of ice cream, we all enjoyed this event so much. It was so wonderful to see the local community and brands team up for such a great cause. We were happy to see some old and new faces trying our healthy ice cream. Attendees were able to pick a scoop of either Vanilla…ahhh!, Vanilla Cha-Cha-Chai, or Gotta Do Chocalate, or mix it with some Chameleon Cold-Brew coffee and make what we liked to call a Dirty Chai (Vanilla Chai + Coffee), Tuxedo (Vanilla + Coffee), or Midnight (Chocolate +Coffee) drink. Huge thanks to Jordan Jones from Camp Gladiator for planning this awesome event. We are looking forward to the next one! Stay tuned for more exciting events in March!

 

Nadamoo! Make Ice Cream Great Again

NadaMoo!, Austin based dairy-free coconut milk ice cream, officially launches in Whole Foods stores nationwide this month. The gluten-free, zero cholesterol, agave sweetened frozen dessert company will also introduce four new flavors to its lineup that will be available in select markets. The new flavors are Chocolate Cherry Fudge Brownie, Pistachio Nut, Salted Caramel and That Snickerdoodle Dough. The four new flavors will first be available in the Southwest region.

The addition of four new flavors will give the company a total of fifteen flavors which will be sampled at Expo West, the world’s largest organic and health products trade show, in Anaheim, California this month. The four new flavors continue NadaMoo’s commitment to transparent and clean ingredients with all of their products certified Fair Trade, kosher, vegan, gluten-free, organic and Non-GMO.

NadaMoo! President and CEO Daniel Nicholson recently took a trip to Thailand to visit one of their coconut producers. “The trip left me feeling inspired and I returned wanting to grow our business as one that truly makes a difference to those that work for us and the people who enjoy NadaMoo!,” said Nicholson. The trip was documented by a local filmmaker and the film will debut in Austin this year. The short film will highlight NadaMoo!’s journey as a family run business that is committed to quality working with teams across the globe. “2016 is a big year for us with the launch of four new flavors and being available nationwide in Whole Foods. We are excited for what the future holds for NadaMoo! as a local business with global reach,” says Nicholson.

In addition to the nationwide Whole Foods launch, NadaMoo! will also be available in over 250 HEB stores across Texas starting in April, up from 100 stores.
